C3 Cutting Head

The higher the speed at which parts are cut and the thicker the material to be cut, the greater the resulting lag in the jet will be. In addition, as cutting speed increases, the jet will show a taper effect. Along edges and curves in particular, the cutting speed must be decreased in order to reduce geometry errors.

To eliminate the above effects and to enable fast cutting along edges and curves, Resato has developed the C3 ( Compensated Contour Cutting) Head. Using the C3 cutting head, geometry errors can be minimized resulting in nearly square edges on the parts. Depending on the type of material and the cutting speed, the material inlet angle of the cutting head is adjusted with the help of the CNC control system and the taper effect is reduced to a minimum.
Taper doesn't disappear, it just gets moved to the scrap part of the material, leaving your part with exactly square edges

Resato has chosen for her own design principle and for that reason changing of the angle of the cutting head does not affect the inlet point of the water jet. This solution does not require any complicated control systems or mechanics.

Advantages of using the C3 cutting head:

  • Improved cutting times, cuts parts 200% faster (max.)
  • Better parts accuracy
  • Hardly any taper effect
  • Lower cost per part
  • Easy to operate due to integration in the existing MMI software
