Cutting software POWERCAM

The efficiency and speed at which cutting orders can be executed depends largely on good preparation. Resato supplies the CAD/CAM cutting software package Powercam to assist in the preparation of cutting orders. The package is installed on a PC. A cable connection takes care of communication with the CNC control.

Features of the Resato Powercam package are:

  • importing of workpieces
  • entering material and thickness data
  • selecting plate type
  • nesting and automatic generation of the CNC program (press one button).

• transmission of CNC program to cutting machine.
• Simple integrated drawing module for drawing of workpieces.
• Modules for importing DXF and DWG files for example supplied by e-mail.
• Database of workpieces in which cutting parameters can be saved for repeat orders.
• Database of plates for immediate overview of the number of new or remainder plates still in storage.
• Database of cutting parameters for saving settings for various types of materials and thicknesses:
  • Cutting speed
  • Increase or decrease of speed for bends and small arcs
  • Piercing by way of small circular movements
  • Run in and run out
  • Cutting width compensation.

• All settings are pre-selected by Resato for five different cutting qualities and are automatically applied when generating the CNC program.
• Common cut: allows workpieces to be placed against each other to decrease cutting time.
• Very quick and efficient nesting possibilities both for hand-operated and automatic types (option). The nesting module automatically takes into account run in and run out as well as overlaps and the number of selected cutting heads. It is also possible to prevent movement over workpieces that have already been cut.
• Calculation module allows you to accurately calculate beforehand the cutting time and the quantity of material to be used.This is an important aid for scheduling and for preparing quotations.
• Many printing options for overviews, drawings, time and cost calculations, stickers, workshop orders etc.
• No knowledge of CNC-controlled machines required. However, basic knowledge of PCs and Windows is required.
